Self Care

To experience the full benefits of your massage therapy treatment it is recommended for you to practice self-care.

The following list is only suggestions and not every client needs to make these adjustments to their lifestyle. If you have directions from other healthcare professionals specifically trained in any of these self-care activities, please follow their instructions.


  • drink extra water

  • stretches

  • stress-reduction techniques

           -meditation, breathing exercises, walking outdoors

  • sleeping with proper support

  • ensure proper nutrition

  • ergonomic approaches

           - monitor computer height, use a telephone headset

  • regular exercise

  • maintaining pain-free full range of motion (ROM) in all joints

  • epsom salts bath

  • ice and/or heat

  • self-massage/foam rolling
